Lee. Kim

From:
Sent:
To:
Subject:

Chris Lyman [sparky@pclink.com]
Thursday, December 03, 19989:08 AM
kim.lee@ci.roseville.mn.us
Senior Housing Project at Central Park

f\.,~q~
\ '}- /

Hello,

I am writing in regard to the proposed senior housing project which will be
developed near Central Park and Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. I am a
resident of Roseville and a regular user of Central Park. I live less than
one mile from the park.

From what I understand of the proposal, the senior housing would be nestled
right up to Central Park, but inobtrusively so. The roof line would not be
visible from across Bennett Lake, for example. Also, the land exchanges
would give Prince of Peace Lutheran Church more parking. The increased
parking would also not be visible from the rest of the park.

It is a fact that the demographic profile of our community is changing.
More and more people are living longer lives, and as the "baby boom"
generation moves into its golden years, the need for senior housing will
increase. In my opinion, this project would be a great benefit to both
seniors and the community. Seniors would be able to continue to live (and
pay taxes) in Roseville. The presence of more seniors in the Roseville
community would be a stablizing influence.

Furthermore, the opportunity to live close by Central Park would be an
attractive option for seniors. A solidly built and well managed residence
just a stone's throw from the park would have no trouble attracting quality
tenants. And what could be a happier way for a retired person to begin the
day than with a walk around Bennett Lake?

In conclusion, I believe it is in the community's best interest to support
this project.

Thank you for listening,
Chris Lyman
2836 Merrill Street
Roseville, MN 55113

Phone: (651) 604-9342
Email: chris.lyman@pclink.com

1
