<br />SEP 22 '98 02:25PM PETERSON BELL CONVERSE <br /> <br />P.2/3 <br /> <br />CITY OF ROSEVD..LE <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />III <br /> <br />... <br /> <br />... <br /> <br />... <br /> <br />:$ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1002.02 OF THE CITY CODE BY <br />ADDING THE DEFINITION OF HABITABLE ROOM AND AMENDING SECTION 1004.01 <br />BY ADDING SUBSECTION lOO4.01L, ESTABUSHING THE PERMISSlliLE OCCUPANCY <br />OF A DWELLING UNIT. <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, does hereby ordain: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Section 1002.02 of the City Code of the City of Roseville is hereby amended by adding <br />the following definition: <br /> <br />HABITABLE ROOM: A room or enclosed floor space used or intended to be used for living, <br />sleeping, cooking or eating purposes, excluding bathrooms, water closet, compartments, <br />laundries, furnace rooms, unfinished basementS (those without required ventilation, required <br />electric outlets and re uired exit facilities), pantries, utility rooms of less than 50 square feet of <br />floor space, foyers, ommunicating rridors, stairways, closets, storage spaces, and workshops, <br />hobby and recreational a m parts of the structure below ground level or in attics. <br /> <br /> <br />ll. <br /> <br />Section 1004.01 of the City Code of the City of RoseviHe is hereby amended by adding <br />subsection 1004.01L. to read as follows: <br /> <br />PERMISSIBLE OCCUPANCY OF DWELLING UNIT: The maximum permissible occupancy <br />of any dwelling unit shall be detennined as follows: <br /> <br />1. For the fIrst occupant, 150 square feet of habitable room floor space and for <br />every additional occupant thereof, at least 100 square feet of habitable room floor <br />space. <br /> <br />2. In no event shall the total number of occupants exceed two times the number of <br />habitable rooms, less kitchen, in the dwelling unit. <br /> <br />In. <br /> <br />This ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage and publication. <br />
