A presentation concerning a proposed new supe~ America building and facilities which would replace the existing structure at 2785 Hamline Ave. No. was made by Michael Cronin from Michael Cronin & Associates. In addition Roman M. Mueller, RA, Manager of Construction and Maintenance for Super America, plus the regional manager and the local manager related as to how the proposal would benefit the users thereof. The Board and residents of Hamline House were favorably impressed and seemed to want the project to be expedited. ~_. ~ H"'_ Following are some but not necessarily all the reasons to be pleased with the new set-up: A. Larger square footage would mean a greater supply and with more variety of items carried in stock. 1. Hamline Center ( north of Terrace Dr.) does not seem able to maintain a food type store having lost two such stores in the not too distant past. 2. With a better stocked convenience store our residents could avoid the heavy traffic on Snelling Ave. at County B2 and/or C for just small purchases which would be available across the street. B. Driveways to Enter and Exit gasoline pumps and parking stalls would seem to handle traffic more smoothly. 1. Two of the four existing driveways are too close to the intersection of Terrace Drive And Hamline Ave. 2. The present driveway which exits onto Hamline Ave. nearest to Terrace Dr. is directly across Hamline Ave. from the driveway which exits from the south parking lot of Hamline House. This complicates exiting from both sides of Hamline Ave. at the same time. 3. The present _driveway which exits onto Terrace Dr. nearest Hamline Ave. is too close toithe stop sign which complicates entering or exiting the S.A. station. (over)
