As a store operator, I am very concerned about the recent actions taken by the City of Roseville concerning Cub Foods. We are located in the end of the mall where Cub Foods would be locating. This end of the mall has very slow traffic, especially with the departure of Home Place. Cub Foods would be a great anchor to help the viability of Har Mar. With the low amount of traffic in the Southeast part of the mall, I am concerned about more stores leaving. I believe Cub would greatly help protect the viability of the mall and fill a need in the community. In my experience, both as a customer to Har Mar for many years and as a renter in this mall, Har Mar has shown and developed a wann relationship with the community of Roseville. They have held many community events, are a walker-friendly building, and generally done much to attract a loyal following of the community who come to shop and socialize. So, I don't understand why the City of Roseville acted in the manner in which it did. To an outsider, the actions looked arbitrary and capricious. If the property is properly zoned for a grocery store, then why did the city go against the advice of the Planning Commission and kill the project. It appears to me, that Har Mar is willing to add this store in a very responsible manner for the local residents. Won't you please reconsider and allow Cub to serve the community?
