REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> Date: Sept. 22, 2014 <br /> Item No.: <br />14.a <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br />Item Description: Communications Staff Update <br />B <br />ACKGROUND <br />1 <br />Since the reorganization of the Communications Division last fall, the Communications Staff has <br />2 <br />followed a strategic initiatives designed to make the City’s overall communications more <br />3 <br />proactive, innovative, and profesional. The plan is comprised of both internal and external <br />4 <br />components focused on anticipating important items and better engaging City residents. <br />5 <br />6 <br />The attached presentation discusses how plans have been put in place to foster improved internal <br />7 <br />communications by providing opportunities for departments to share information about events <br />8 <br />and initiatives.
