REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: September 22, 2014 <br /> Item No.: 13. <br />c <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br />Item Description: Approval to Enter Into Purchase Agreement For Purchase of New Fire <br />Engine <br />B <br />ACKGROUND <br />1 <br />The Fire Department continually evaluates the Fire Apparatus Fleet and the need to replace <br />2 <br />apparatus as they age and require increased costs of maintenance. The Fire Department <br />3 <br />currently has a 23 year old fire engine that has been scheduled for replacement. <br />4 <br />The Fire Department maintains a fleet of three fire engines. Each spend five years in a first, <br />5 <br />second, and third due response status.
