June 11, 1999

Michael Davis and Priscilla Pope
2687 Woodbridge Street
Roseville, Minnesota 55113

RE: Request for a Setback Variance relating to driveway width and side yard setback

Dear Michael and Priscilla:

The Planning Commission, at their meeting ofJune 9,1999, reviewed your application
for a variance from Section 703.04 related to driveway width and side yard setback on
your property at 2687 Woodbridge Street. Your requests for variances of a driveway
width of 32 feet (City Code allows a width of up to 26 feet), and a side yard setback of
zero (City Code requires a five foot side yard setback) were recommended for denial.

The recommended denial for the driveway width was based on staff findings that no
physical hardship was demonstrated to justify the 32 foot driveway, as it was
determined a reasonable and practical alternative could be derived through the
tapering of the driveway.

The Commission also recommended the request for the zero side yard setback be
denied, thereby necessitating a five-foot sideyard setback for your driveway.

Your application, together with the Planning Commission's recommendation, will be
forwarded to the City Council on Monday, June 29th for final action. The City Council
meeting starts at 6:30 p.m., and is held in the Council Chambers of the City Hall. In
order for the City Council to consider your application, you or a representative must be
present at this meeting to discuss your request.

If you have any questions, please call me (651.490.2236).

Sincerely,

Thomas Paschke
City Planner
City of Roseville

Q:\Planning Files\3126_Davis,Michael_Pope,Priscilla \PCAction Letter_060999.doc
