4.0 STAFF RECOMMENDA TION 4.1 Based on the findings outlined in Section 3.1 of this report, staff recommended approval of the request for a variance to reduce the setback from the OHWL of Lake Josephine to 22 feet and a variance to allow the continuance of an impervious lot coverage of 70 percent at 1199 Josephine Road. 5.0 PLANNING COMMISSION 5.1 On August 13, 1997, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on the request. Stuart Sellars and Carole Wedel Sellars were present to answer questions and provide additional information. No residents present commented on this request. 5.2 The Planning Commission discussed the existing site conditions, the fact that the existing impervious lot coverage and setback of the accessory structure could remain into perpetuity, and how the alternative presented is an improvement over the plans submitted at the last Planning Commission meeting. 5.3 The Planning Commission recommended approval of the request for a variance to reduce the setback from the OHWL of Lake Josephine to 22 feet and a variance to allow the continuance of an impervious lot coverage of 70 percent at 1199 Josephine Road. 6.0 SUGGESTED COUNCIL ACTION 6.1 It is the Council's policy to accept public comment as time permits. 6.2 By resolution, grant a variance to reduce the setback from the OHWL of Lake Josephine to 22 feet and a variance to allow the continuance of an impervious lot coverage of 70 percent at 1199 Josephine Road, based on the findings outlined in Section 3.1 of this report.
