<br />~ <br /> <br />http://www.stpaul.gov/code/lc33I.html <br /> <br />.f <br /> <br />,.' <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />(6) Post a conspicuous sign in the window which states that there is a safe at the convenience store and it <br />is not accessible to the employees. <br /> <br />(7) All open parking lots or areas adjacent to the convenience food store shall be lit so that all spaces <br />may be observed from the adjoining public streets, alleys or walkways, or so that the lighting is in <br />compliance with the standards contained in "Horizontal Illuminances for Parking Facilities," as adopted <br />by the Illuminating Engineering Society Handbook, 1987 Edition. <br /> <br />(8) Any owner or employee who works between the hours of midnight and 6:00 a.m. at a convenience <br />food store shall complete a course in robbery prevention to be given by the police department, or a <br />program certified by the chief of police, within thirty (30) days after he or she begins employment. If the <br />police department's robbery prevention course is used, the owner of the convenience food store shall pay <br />the cost of training each employee so trained to the city within thirty (30) days after the training is given. <br /> <br />(9) Install a security camera of a type and number approved by the chief of police. Such camerae s) must <br />be capable of producing a retrievable image on film or tape that can be made a permanent record and <br />that can be enlarged through projection or other means. Cameras meeting the requirements of this <br />section shall be maintained in proper working order at all times and shall be subject to periodic <br />inspection by the license inspector or the chief of police, or his or her designees. <br /> <br />(c) Adverse action. In addition to any other criminal or civil penalty under the Legislative Code or any <br />other statute or ordinance, failure to comply with the requirements of this section and section 331.45 of <br />this Legislative Code shall be grounds for adverse action against all licenses held by the licensee within <br />the city. <br /> <br />(Ord. Legislative advisory committee on convenience store security. <br /> <br />The council may by resolution, as required by and in accordance with section 3.01.8 of the Charter, <br />establish and appoint members to a legislative task force on convenience store security. It is the intent of <br />the council that the membership shall consist of two (2) industry representatives, two (2) current or <br />former convenience store clerks, one (1) representative of the police department, one (1) representative <br />from council research and three (3) members of the public, for a total of nine (9) members. The charge <br />of the task force shall be as set forth in the resolution, but may include reviewing the practices and <br />procedures for public and private action to reduce assaults and robberies in convenience stores. The <br />director of council research or his or her designee(s) shall provide staff support for the taskforce. The <br />task force shall report back to the council as required by the resolution creating it. <br /> <br />(Ord.
