1
\
!

i
1

j
\

J

1
J

The described soil borings were to a depth of 20 feet below the surface, and no
bedrock was encountered. According to Mossier and Cleland, depth to bedrock in
the area is approximately 100 feet (Depth to Bedrock Map, County Atlas Series,
Atlas C-7, Plate 5 in the Geologic Atlas, Ramsey County, Minnesota, University
of Minnesota, St. Paul, 1992).

The described soil boring logs are available for review upon request.

17.

Erosion and Sedimentation:
Give the acreage to be graded or excavated and the cubic yards of soil to be
moved:

Improvements to the site will not require significant grading. The site has already
been mass graded as part of improvements approved in the spring of 2000. An
erosion control plan was approved by the Watershed District for the property.

Describe any steep slopes or highly erodable soils and identify them on the
site map.
No steep slopes are located on the property. Minimal potential for problem
erosion exists.

The Veritas site and remaining office site have been graded to pad elevations.
Grading, utility, street and drainage pond construction has been completed. The
earthwork required to final grade the site will be minimal.

It is anticipated that during site grading, existing topsoil will be stockpiled and
later re-applied in the landscape areas. The remaining ground will need to be
adjusted to fmal grade with proper soil preparation to support the buildings and
parking lots.

Describe the erosion and sedimentation measures to be used during and after
construction of the project.
Standard practices for erosion control will be followed for this site. Anticipated
BMP's are: Rock Entrance to minimize soil tracking on the roadways from
vehicle traffic; silt fence / hay bale interception to keep silt and fine soils from
eroding off-site and onto hard surfaces; storm sewer inlets will be screened to
minimize the loss of soil into the existing and proposed storm structures.
Infiltration basins will be constructed for stormwater infiltration. During
construction, these infiltration basins will collect sediments, until site vegetation
is established. Final grading plans will meet or exceed the Rice Creek Watershed
District requirements for erosion control.

Page 16
