This <br />area is public property and is generally used for utilities, walks and landscaping. The width of <br />this right-of-way area varies considerably in different sections of town. Municipal ordinance <br />requires that all Street Trees be planted 3 feet inside the public right-of-way (as illustrated). <br />All Street Trees are to be planted and maintained to meet public requirements. A free, <br />written permit.from the City Horticulturist is required prior to planting, trimming, removing <br />. or otherwise treating trees or shrubs upon public property (see appendix D. <br /> <br />page 29 <br />
