-...

Paschke, Thomas

From:
Sent:
To:
Subject:

Keith_C_Hug@graco.com
Wednesday, March 08, 20009:35 AM
thomas. paschke@ci.roseville.mn.us
Sunrise Assisted Living Inc.

Thomas,

My name is Keith Hug, 10m a resident of 1671 Roseplace, not far from the
proposed Sunrise Assisted Living site, planning file #3159. My wife Sandy
and I feel that this type of structure certainly adds more value to the
neighborhood than the current 2555 property. The 2555 property is an eye
sore in our opinion along with the 2560 property. It is our opinion that
the 2555 grounds are not well maintained. Bags of garbage are regularly
seen under the trees at the West end of the parking lot, traffic is noisy
to and from bingo sessions, and until last summer, shrubs around the
building were overgrown and unsightly. We would welcome seniors to the
neighborhood.

Further, we hope that the city will take a hard look at rezoning the 2560
property. Currently vacated, this property is "out-of-place" in the
residential neighborhood and a further source of traffic problems. Members
of the athletic facility had a tendency to drive at excessive speeds with
loud music blaring from vehicles. We hope future consideration will be
given to either destroying the building, rezoning or incorporation with the
park.

We would like the City Council to take into consideration redesigning the
entrance to Oakcrest to slow traffic. Additionally, we would like the
Council to consider appropriating funds to continue the bike/walk path that
tracks along the East side of the park. The path is regularly used by
walkers/bikers but ends at Oakcrest. People frequently use the path to
access the shopping center south of the neighborhood but have no paved
access. While an access road was built to the East of the 2525 property it
is gated. Please consider continuing the path for pedestrians.

Keith Hug
(651 )628-0981
e-mail: hugfamily@juno.comorkeith_c_hug@graco.com

1
