<br />~UPPLEMENTAL TRANSIT FUNDING EVALUATION <br /> <br />Proposals in the transit-oriented, mixed-use category (Category A) that have received a <br />) score of 70 or higher on the selection criteria will be evaluated against the following <br />criteria for consideration of an award from the $1.5 million supplemental transit fund: <br /> <br />,,~ "'1>> 0 Estimated reduction in total number of daily single-occupant vehicle trips: <br /> <br />~.J ~! 0 Estimated reduction in total number of vehicle miles traveled; <br /> <br />~i 0 Description/estimate of how transit system operating efficiency will be improved; <br /> <br />o Estimated reduction in transit system operating costs; <br /> <br />o Improved transit security and safety; <br /> <br />o Projected increase in public transit ridership; <br /> <br />o Number of transit-dependent persons likely to be able to use transit in this <br />location, such as persons in households without a car, persons below 200 percent of <br />poverty level, persons age 65 and older or between ages 12 and 18, persons with <br />mobility limitations. <br /> <br />o Other transit funds leveraged. <br /> <br />EVALUATION AND SELECTION PROCESS <br />FOR ALL CATEGORIES <br />(Except Category E, Planning/Predevelopment Proposals) <br /> <br />1. Council staff will determine the number of points awarded to each proposal under the <br />Threshold Criteria. Proposals that qualify will proceed to Step 2. Point totals will be <br />carried forward, after being weighted so that all proposals will be evaluated on an equal <br />basis. For example, a project that has received the maximum point score of 30 in <br />Category C, Mixed Residential, will be multiplied by the appropriate numerical factor to <br />bring its score to 50, the maximum possible point total in any category. <br /> <br />2. The Livable Communities Advisory Committee will hear presentations from qualified <br />applicants, evaluate qualified proposals and score applications on the Selection Criteria. <br /> <br />22 <br />
