The goal of the program is to increase the property value of the <br />home and improve the value and aesthetics of the neighborhood properties. <br /> <br />3.3 The City's goal is to purchase three homes annually; the city has purchased <br />three homes in 1998. Those homes are located at 2100 William Street, 2668 <br />Lexington Avenue, and 2190 St. Croix Street. The total funds expended under <br />the program are approximately $173,000. No homes have been purchased in <br />1999 due to the active residential market. <br /> <br />3.4 The property at 2100 William was sold under a contract for deed to Southwind <br />Builders for the construction of a new single family home with a value of <br />approximately $150,000. A new home was constructed with a value of $169,000 <br />and was sold to first time homebuyers who were renters in Roseville. <br /> <br />3.5 The City completed the demolition of 2668 Lexington Avenue. This lot is in the <br />City Center Study area, which is currently under review. <br /> <br />3.6 The City sold the property at 2190 St. Croix Street under contract for deed to <br />Preferred Builders for the construction of a new single family home with a value <br />of $200,000. The old home has been demolished and the new home is under <br />construction. <br /> <br />3.7 The City also provides low interest loans for housing demolition and/or <br />rehabilitation funded by the City Housing Fund. <br /> <br />4. The Suburban Ramsey Family Collaborative - Roseville continues to work <br />cooperatively with this agency on the following programs. <br />a. Employee transit system via "shuttlebug" <br />b. Renter education: "Becoming Part ofthe Community" <br />c. Senior education: "Remaining Part of the Community" with LSS <br />d. Young Employees:"Retaining You as Part of the Community" <br />e. Housing Education: " Maintaining Your House as Part of the <br />Community" <br /> <br />5. Rambler Redesign <br /> <br />5.1 The Rambler Redesign Program is a demonstration technique to help <br />homeowners put professional design, value, and utility back into the City's <br />1950's and 1960's housing stock. The goals of the Rambler Redesign program are <br />to assist families who would like to remain in Roseville create an adaptable <br />home for their family and a more marketable home for the next owner. Homes <br />display some of the following redesigned features and upgraded functionality: <br />larger kitchens and eating areas, adding bedrooms and newest design elements <br />like great rooms or computer rooms, as well as double garages and new front <br />entries with more street appeal. <br /> <br />2 <br />
