VISION STATEMENT <br /> <br />Roseville shall be a community with an appropriate balance of attractive, safe, well <br />maintained housing alternatives. These alternatives shall be available without <br />discrimination in appealing, well kept, crime deterring neighborhoods. Each <br />neighborhood shall have appropriate City services, parks, and open space located in an <br />environment that provides adequate educational, occupational, and spiritual <br />opportunities. <br /> <br />B. RESIDENTIAL GOALS <br /> <br />1. Achieve a flexible balance of different types of housing alternatives that will <br />meet the life cycle needs of residents Through careful use of the little remaining <br />land in Roseville identify and maintain the existing balance (or at least the same <br />percentages) of the residential land use acreage throughout the community. <br /> <br />2. Identify stable single family areas and protect them. Preserve the integrity of <br />. existing single family neighborhood by prohibiting the intrusion of <br />incompatible uses. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />J?resenre residential areas (as c.urrently design~ted on the City land use plan) . . <br />. which have at least4 of the' 6 items listed: <br /> <br />.3. <br /> <br />. . <br /> <br />. a} . adequate lot sizes for current homes; <br /> <br />b) . an average building value for the area equal to or above the city average per <br />unit value;' <br /> <br />c) meet or exceed the structural requirements of the building and <br />maintenance codes; <br /> <br />d) required public infrastructure (utilities, roads and sidewalks, and storm <br />water drainage and ponding systems in place and functioning; <br /> <br />e) an identifiable residential neighborhood unit of 20 or more residences <br />defined by physical boundaries (streets, railroad or utility right-of-ways, <br />etc.) or landmarks (schools, libraries, churches, parks, open space, etc.); and <br /> <br />f) a common architectural design or aesthetic treatment. <br /> <br />Roseville Comprehensive Plan -1998 Update <br /> <br />Goals and Policies - Page 6 of 20 <br />
