<br /> <br />October 18,1999 <br /> <br />Mr. Tim Woller <br />2774 Dale Street <br />Roseville, MN 55113 <br /> <br />RE: Requested Setback Permit/or Allowance 0/ Detached Garage. <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Woller: <br /> <br />On October 14, 1999 the Roseville Development Review Committee (DRC) held a <br />hearing regarding your request to construct a detached garage 25 feet from your property <br />line along lona Street of five (5) feet into the required front yard setback. <br /> <br />No adjacent residents/property owners were at the hearing to address your request nor did <br />the City receive any calls in favor or opposition to your request. However, the DRC <br />indicated a couple of concerns with respect to your proposal. The first concern indicated <br />was regarding the length and width design of the detached garage and the potential for <br />damaging the tree to the proposed garage's rear. The DRC indicated that they would like <br />to see the garage slightly modified (if possible) to reduce the potential impact on the <br />tree's roots. The second concern was regarding the roof design. The DRC concluded <br />that the roof should match the slope and style of the existing home 4/12 pitch and hip <br />joist design). <br /> <br />The DRC voted to recommend approval of your request with the conditions that the <br />garage design be reconsidered to further protect the tree and that the roof be of similar <br />slope and style to that of the adjacent home. Please note that I have received the <br />signatures of the adjacent property owners indicating they support your development <br />plans and that they will not appeal the City's approval. <br /> <br />The City can issue a building permit upon submittal of the required information and by <br />meeting the two conditions of your Setback Permit.
