Request For Planning Commission Action Date: 12/08/99 Item No: 6a Manager Approval: Agenda Section: Public Hearings Adoption of Annual (1999) Comprehensive Plan Revisions (Pf3174) 1.0 Background 1.1 Each year in December/January the Roseville Planning Commission and City Council affirm the Comprehensive Plan changes that have occurred during the previous year. (The Comprehensive Plan was rewritten and adopted in September 1994.) During the year, public hearings are held on all plan changes before they are approved by the Commission and Council. Most amendments (see examples below) are then sent to the Metropolitan Council for their review, comment, and approval. 1.2 In order to keep track of amendments to the Plan, the Planning Commission has annually scheduled the affirmation of the changes and inclusion of the changes on an addenda sheet in the front of the plan, From last year, the 1998 Metro Council review of the City's Plan is nearing completion. From this year (1999) no goals or policies have changed, except as noted below. All revised maps are dated December 13, 1999. 2.0 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN REVISIONS.- A chart of the entire plan, sections, and appendices is now incorporated in the front of the Plan. 2.1 Zoning Map (Section 1) - Illustrates all land use zoning designations based on City approvals to December 13, 1999, including a spreadsheet breakdown of each designation by area and percent of total city land area. 2,2 Demographics (Section 2) - The demographic profile has been updated where statistics are available, New demographics are available through a collaboration of the City, the Roseville and Mounds View School Districts, and the I-35W coalition. 2,3 Land Use, Existing Land Use Map (Section 4) - Illustrates existing land uses, including a spreadsheet breakdown of each designation by area and percent of total City land area, PF 3174 - RPCA (12/08/99) - Page 1 of 4
