<br />'3 f7h <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR CITY COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />Department Approval: <br /> <br />Manager Approval: <br /> <br />DATE: 11/8/99 <br />ITEM NO: <br /> <br />Agenda Section: <br />REPORTS <br /> <br />Item Description: <br /> <br />Roseville Housing Improvement Plan <br /> <br />1.0 Request for Council Action <br /> <br />Approve, by resolution, the Roseville Housing Improvement Plan, which outlines <br />guiding principles, housing policies, housing programs and the housing fund budget <br />for 2000. The main components of the Housing Plan includes the VISION OF Vista 2000 <br />and goals and policies of the City's Comprehensive Plan and Livable Communities <br />Action Plan. The Housing Plan is structured to be reviewed and revised by the City <br />Council annually and will become part ofthe annual Comprehensive Plan update as <br />part of the Implementation Strategies and Housing Sections. <br /> <br />2.0 Background: <br /> <br />City staff has revised the draft Housing Plan with Council comments and suggestions <br />per review at the October 18, 1999 work session. New programs discussed at the <br />meeting are noted as underlined in the Housing Plan. Specific approval for the new <br />programs will come back to Council for final review and approval prior to <br />implementation. <br /> <br />3.0 Summary of New Programs for 2000: <br /> <br />3.1 Program: One-Stop Information Line <br /> <br />· More effectively market existing programs available through the use of a one-stop resource <br />phone number provided by the Energy & Environment Resource Center and funded by <br />Ramsey County. <br />. The Energy & Environment Resource Center (EERC) will field calls from residents <br />regarding home improvements needed. They will then provide information on what <br />program(s), from all sources (County, State, City), best fit their needs. <br />. Ramsey County will provide brochures, refrigerator magnets and other marketing <br />materials to get the phone number out into the community. <br />. The City can market the one-stop information line in news fax, Roseville Wrap, cable and <br />at all service counters. <br />.
