<br />13. Lighting: Any lighting used to illuminate an off-street parking area shall be <br />hooded and so arranged as to reflect the light away from adjoining property, <br />abutting residential uses and public rights of way and shall be in compliance <br />with Section 11-16-11 of this Title. <br /> <br />14. Curbing And Landscaping: Except for single family, two-family, townhouse <br />and quadraminiums, all open off-street parking shall have a perirr.eter <br />continuous concrete curb around the entire parking lot, said curb shaU not <br />be closer than five (5) feet to any lot line, unless approved by the City <br />Engineer, or when additional space is required for required landscaping and <br />screening. Grass, plantings or screening shall be provided in all areas <br />bordering the parking area as specified by the design guidelines of the <br />Lakeville Corridor and Gateway Design Study. <br /> <br />15. Pedestrian Provision: All off-street parking areas shall be designed with <br />due regard to pedestrian circulation. Off-street parking areas shall be <br />designed such that vehicle and pedestrian circulation is accommodated in <br />a safe, complementary and orderly fashion. When curb separated sidewalks <br />are provided at the head of parking stalls, the minimum width shall be seven <br />(7) feet to provide space for vehicle overhang. <br /> <br />16. Required Screening: All open, nonresidential off-street parking areas of five <br />(5) or more spaces shall be screened and buffered from abutting or <br />surrounding residential districts in compliance with Chapter 21 of this Title. <br /> <br />17. All exposed parking areas of five (5) or more required spaces shall be <br />landscaped on all sides in compliance with Chapter 21 of this Title. No <br />landscaping or screening shall interfere with drive or pedestrian visibility for <br />vehicles entering or exiting the premises. Such parking areas shall devote <br />not less than three hundred fifty (350) square feet of land to internal <br />landscape islands (in addition to required traffic safety islands) for each <br />three thousand (3,000) square feet of parking space after the first three <br />thousand (3,000) square feet Such islands shall be bounded by concrete <br />curbing. Trees may be installed in approved traffic safety islands to <br />delineate parking spaces from drive aisles and other areas. The land area <br />devoted to intemallandscape islands may be decreased in cases where the <br />land area devoted to traffic islands meets or exceeds the above requirement. <br /> <br />18. Compact Car Spaces: Up to twenty (20) percent of the parking spaces in a <br />parking lot may be permanently marked for compact cars only, provided that: <br /> <br />a. The parking lot contains eighty (80) or more off-street parking spaces. <br /> <br />b. Ail compact car spaces are a miniml..Am of eight (8) feet in width and <br />sixteen (16) feet in length. <br /> <br />19-8 <br />
