May, AlA ~\ <br />Narrative for Interim Use Permit <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />June 20,2000 <br /> <br />The following is a brief narrative addressing the issues outlined in the Interim Use Application, Item <br />20D, for the Family Academy project at the Advent Lutheran Church site located at 3000 Hamline <br />Avenue. <br /> <br />1. A 6 classroom modular building unit (typical photo attached) will be placed on the existing <br />bituminous parking surface. This will not Increase or affect the existing drainage amount or <br />pattern. <br />2. The modular unit will result In the loss of approximately 28 parking spaces in the existing <br />parking lot. These spaces are rarely used for the church, as the lots are rarely filled to <br />capacity, according to the pastors, even at holiday or special services. <br />3. The site circulation will not be affected, as the flow of traffic to the church will be <br />maintained. The school bus drop off I pick up route will be through the parking area <br />adjacent to the existing school wing, using the existing entry/exits off Hamllne Avenue. <br />4. The expected length of the modular unit will be 3 years. <br />5. The modular building will be provided with base 'skirtlng' and an accessible ramp. Exterior <br />materials are wood with a very low-pitched metal or membrane roof. <br />6. The modular building will be placed a significant distance from all existing buildings and <br />property lines. <br />7. No major change in landscaping is proposed. <br />8. The playground areas for the school will consist of the existing open grass play and also <br />using the asphalt area near the school for hard surface play needs. <br />9. A school sign will be located near the entrance to the site, Incorporated Into the sign for the <br />existing music school. <br />10.
