<br />, <br />" <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Anticipating the rebuttal to the story of our former pastor, we understand that Bingo is a <br />long way from Casino gambling. We have heard about virtues of the Bingo operation at <br />its current site and the nice, quiet clientele it services. We have listened to all the <br />regulations and safe guards that are in place that won't allow people to bet the farm. So it <br />may be argued, this Pastor's gambling addiction doesn't apply here. <br /> <br />0, but it does at least in our eyes. This is where the dagger pierces our heart. Our <br />former pastor's gambling compulsion began only 2 years before his fall when he chose to <br />playa harmless game for amusement. Because of easy access, low stakes and the <br />repetitive nature of this kind of game it fed a weakness in him that quickly went out of <br />control. <br /> <br />To call Bingo merely an amusement without recognizing the full impact on a residential <br />neighborhood, families and individuals is a breach of public trust. This matter is too <br />important to push through quickly without a thorough investigation of the <br />neighborhood's concerns. <br /> <br />I am convinced that the collective wisdom of the city council, charitable organizations <br />that raise money in this way and the surrounding property owners can find solutions that <br />are acceptable.
