Community center <br />Many parks users and residents noted their interest <br />źƓ ğ ĭƚƒƒǒƓźƷǤ ĭĻƓƷĻƩ źƭ ƓƚƷ ƓĻǞΓƷŷğƷ źƷ ŷğƭ <br />been a topic of discussion for more than 25 years. <br />The parks and recrea on system master planning <br />process con ŋ rmed the level of interest in this kind <br />of facility and directed e orts toward: <br />· ar cula on of the kind of facility desired; <br />· de ŋ ni on of a desired program; <br />· iden ŋ ca on of site loca on parameters and <br />a preferred site; and <br />· genera ƚƓ ƚŅ ğ ƦƩĻƌźƒźƓğƩǤ ƭźƷĻ ͻ ŋ Ʒͼ ŅƚƩ ƷŷĻ <br />community center on the preferred site. <br />The Ci zens Advisory Team devoted an en re <br />mee ng to the community center, and followed <br />up with a review of ini al direc ons. They do not <br />see this as solely a recrea on center or ŋ eld house, <br />A concept for the community center was tested on a site that includes Veterans Park, and linking to the existing <br />and were interested in blending arts and cultural <br />Civic Center campus. Much work remains, and signi ϱ icant evolution of the program and the concept layout should <br />ac vi es and mee ng rooms with ac ve recrea on <br />be expected. Maintaining a process similar to the one used in this master plan is viewed as an essential part of the <br />spaces. They see this facility as a place of gathering <br />next steps in de ϱ ining a community center that serves the Roseville community. <br />that engenders a greater spirit of community, <br />not simply a place to swim or play basketball. <br />Ul mately, the CAT focused on a concept of an all <br />ages social and recrea on center, with a strong <br />orienta on to families. <br />The CAT highlighted a rather expansive list of <br />ac vi es that might be included. While they did <br />not wish to preclude program components, it <br />was understood that site constraints and budget <br />limita ons, neither of which were dealt with during <br /> <br />
