<br />September 22, 2000 <br /> <br />Mr. Hongru Shen <br />1849 Eldridge Street <br />Roseville, Minnesota 55113 <br /> <br />RE: Application for Setback Permit <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Shen: <br /> <br />The purpose of this letter is to confirm that the Development Review Committee met on <br />September 21, 2000 to review and decide upon your application for a setback permit to <br />allow the construction of a covered porch (located over your existing steps and attached <br />to the front of your home). The request requires a setback permit to allow a five-foot <br />encroachment into the required 30-foot front yard setback. <br /> <br />At the September 21 st meeting, the Committee approved your setback permit application <br />upon compliance with the following conditions: <br /> <br />1) The foundation under the existing steps must be verified (prior to permit <br />issuance) to be consistent with current Building Code requirements; <br />2) The porch shall not be enclosed; <br />3) The same or similar exterior structure materials and colors (to existing <br />structure) shall be used for the porch; <br />4) The covered roof of the porch shall have the same pitch as the roof ofthe <br />house. <br />5) Roof support posts are to be on the top step (landing); <br />6) Plans to scale, including front and side elevation, must be submitted before a <br />building permit will be issued. <br /> <br />If you have any questions, please call me [651.490.2236].
