<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, <br />County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was duly held on the 23rd day of October 2000, at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />Council Member <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING VARIANCE FROM SECTION 1004.02D5 (DWELLING <br />DIMENSIONS AND APPEARANCES AND HEIGHT, FRONTAGE, YARD AND LOT AREA <br />REQUIREMENTS IN R-l DISTRICTS) OF THE ROSEVILLE CITY CODE FOR <br />PROPERTY LOCATED AT 3062 WEST OWASSO BOULEVARD (PF3264) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, David Kenney, 3062 West Owasso Boulevard North, is requesting a variance from <br />Section 1004.02D5 of the Roseville City code to allow the replacement of an existing detached garage <br />with a larger (40 foot x 20 foot) detached garage including a study expansion area, thereby requesting <br />continued use ofthe 16.6 foot front yard setback requiring a 13.6 foot variance; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 1004,01A2 states that no accessory structures shall be located in the <br />required front yard except for through lots and lake shore lots. Through lots and lake shore lots, <br />however, are required to meet the standard setback requirement for districts in which they are located; <br />and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 1004.02D5 (Dwelling Dimensions and Appearances and Height, <br />Frontage, Yard and Lot Area Requirements in R-l Districts) requires a front yard setback of30 feet. <br />The Kenney existing detached garage lies 16.6 feet from the front yard property line adjacent to West <br />McCarrons Boulevard; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Roseville Comprehensive Plan and Roseville Housing Improvement <br />Plan encourage reconstruction and upgrading residential structures (and neighborhoods) throughout <br />the community, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Kenneys have indicated the existing 550 square foot detached garage is <br />structurally unsound and in need of increased maintenance. Therefore, the Kinneys propose to use the <br />same location and setback for the garage and add approximately 250 square feet to the structure along <br />the east side for a study addition (total new structure 800 square feet); and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Roseville Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on the request on <br />Wednesday, October 11, 2000, and recommended approval (5-0) of the requested variance, with the <br />following findings: <br /> <br />1 <br />
