REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: October 27, 2014 <br /> Item No.: 7.f <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br />Item Description: Youth Representative on the Parks and Recreation Commission <br />B <br />ACKGROUND <br />1 <br />It has been customary for the City Council to appoint a non-voting youth representative to serve a one <br />2 <br />year term on the Parks and Recreation Commission expiring on July 31 of each year with extensions as <br />3 <br />appropriate. Chloe Boehm has been serving in that role until July 31, 2014. <br />4 <br />5 <br />The position has been advertised in the newspaper. An application has been received from Teague <br />6 <br />Bogenholm (a freshman at RAHS) who indicates a strong interest in serving in that role. He has met <br />7 <br />with Commission Chair Dave Holt and attended a meeting to introduce himself and meet the <br />8 <br />commissioners. Teague is active in several extra curricular activities and has held other volunteer <br />9 <br />positions within the community.
