<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting ofthe City Council of the City of <br />Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was duly called and held at the City Hall on Monday, the <br />14th day of May, 2001 at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Maschka, Goedeke, Klausing, Mastel and Kysylyczyn <br />and the following were absent: None <br /> <br />Member Kysylyczyn introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 9887 <br /> <br />CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br />COUNTY OF HENNEPIN <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING A COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH THE <br />METROPOLITAN COUNCIL FOR THE ACQUISITION AND OPERATION OF <br />RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE METROPOLITAN <br />COUNCIL'S FAMILY AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZING <br />THE MAYOR AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE THE COOPERATION <br />AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council is authorized by Minnesota Statutes section 473.195 to <br />exercise the functions, rights, duties, privileges, immunities and limitations as are provided for <br />housing and redevelopment authorities created for municipalities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in conjunction with the implementation of its Family Affordable Housing Program <br />("F AHP"), the Metropolitan Council proposes to acquire and administer residential properties <br />("FAHP Units") within the boundaries of the City, up to thirty percent of which units will be made <br />available to eligible residents of the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes section 473.195, subdivision I requires the Metropolitan Council <br />to obtain the approval of the governing body of the City before the Metropolitan Council may <br />implement its proposed housing initiative within the boundaries of the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, federal law requires the Metropolitan Council to enter into a Cooperation Agreement <br />with the City in connection with the proposed acquisition and operation of the FAHP Units. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council that pursuant to Minnesota <br />Statutes section 473.195 the City Council gives its prior approval to the Metropolitan Council's <br />proposal to acquire and administer up to fifteen (15) FAHP Units within the boundaries of the City; <br />and <br /> <br />BE IT FUTHER RESOLVED, by the City Council that the Mayor and the City Administrator are <br />authorized to execute the Cooperation Agreement on behalf of the City. <br />
