<br />Livable Communities Demonstration Account <br /> <br />FUNDING CATEGORIES - 2001 <br />FOR DEVELOPMENT PROPOSALS <br /> <br />The Metropolitan Council encourages development patterns that are appropriate in different <br />locations in the region, consistent with regional growth strategy objectives, as reflected in the <br />following categories: <br /> <br />Category A: Compact transit-oriented development, redevelopment or infill that has a mix of <br />uses, including housing: <br /> <br />o Compact, mixed-use transit-oriented development, redevelopment or infi II proposals located <br />within i mile of regular route transit stops, or within an area that will be served by regular <br />route transit service within two to three years. (Regular route service operates on fixed routes and <br />a predetermined schedule. Includes Metro Transit or opt-out service). <br /> <br />Locations: Area 1: Minneapolis, St. Paul and first-ring suburbs, Are~ 2: Developing Urban Communities <br />(See attached map). <br /> <br />Category B: Compact development, redevelopment or infill that has a mix of uses, including <br />housing: <br /> <br />o Compact, mixed-use development, redevelopment or infill development that is not served by <br />regular route transit service, and will not be served by regular route transit service within two <br />to three years. <br /> <br />Locations: Area 1: Minneapolis, St. Paul and first-ring suburbs, Area 2: Developing Urban Communities, <br />Area 3: Rural Growth Centers. (See map) <br /> <br />Category C: Compact mixed residential development, redevelopment or infill: <br /> <br />o Residential development that includes a mix of housing types at different sales and/or rent <br />levels. <br /> <br />Locations: Area 1: Minneapolis, St. Paul and first-ring suburbs, Area 2: Developing Urban Communities, <br />Area 3: Rural Growth Centers.
