<br />1 Extract of Draft Planning Commission Minutes of June 13,2001: <br />2 <br />3 6(g) Plannine File 3318: Ghauzen Gong, PhD, American Academy of <br />4 Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, request to rezone property located at <br />5 1925 County Road B-2 from "I-I", Light Industrial District to "B-3", <br />6 General Business District. <br />7 <br />8 Chair Rhody opened the hearing and requested Dennis Welsch to provide a verbal <br />9 summary of the project report dated June 13,2001 <br />10 <br />11 Dennis Welsch, Community Development Director, provided background. <br />12 Changzhen Gong, PhD, American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental <br />13 Medicine, has requested approval of a rezoning from "I -I", Light Industrial <br />14 District to "B-3", General Business District. The property is located at 1925 <br />15 County Road B-2. Dr. Gong expressed interest in updating the structure at this <br />16 site for classroom, clinic and office space for the Academy. <br />17 <br />18 Staff recommended approval of the request. <br />19 <br />20 David Gimberline, Real Solve, noted that the school would have 20 full time and <br />21 20 part-time students. <br />22 <br />23 There being no further comments, Chair Rhody closed the hearing. <br />24 <br />25 Chair Rhody noted the proposal was consistent with the Tower Place Plan. <br />26 <br />27 Motion: Motion by Chair Rhody, second by Member Mulder, to recommend <br />28 approval of the request by Changzhen Gong, PhD, American Academy of <br />29 Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, to rezone from "I -I", Light Industrial <br />30 District, to "B-3", General Business District, for the property located at 1935 <br />31 West County Road B-2, based on findings in Section 4 and 5, and subject to <br />32 conditions A through C in Section 6, ofthe project report dated June 13,2001. <br />33 <br />34 Ayes: Rhody, Mulder, Olson, Cunningham, Duncan, Wilke, Traynor <br />35 Nays: None <br />36 Motion carried 7-0. <br />37 <br />38 Member Mulder noted that TIES currently owns the building and that there is a <br />39 contract to purchase it subject to the rezoning. <br />40 <br />41 <br />
