Chair Rhody opened the hearing and requested Dennis Welsch to provide a verbal summary of the project report dated June 13,2001 Fire Chief Rich Gasaway and Ken Olson summarized the request for a variance, for Fire Station #3, 2335 Dale, to allow the construction of a safety exit stairway ITom the second level to the exterior ground floor resulting in an addition, which would be within 22 feet to the north property line, adjacent to Lovell A venue. Member Cunningham asked for details of the stairwell and landings of the enclosed stairwell. Chief Gasaway explained that the staff currently sleeps in the training space; the dormitory space is not legally usable without a second stairwell. There being no public comment, Chair Rhody closed the hearing. Motion: Motion by Duncan, second by Wilke, to recommend approval of a resolution granting the City of Roseville Fire Department, 2335 Dale Street, an 8 foot comer side yard setback variance from Section 1004.02D5 (Dwelling Dimensions and Appearances and Height, Frontage, Yard and Lot Area Requirements in R-I Districts) of the Roseville City Code to allow construction of a new 8 feet by 19 foot life safety exit stairwell, subject to the findings in Section 5 and conditions A - D in Section 6 of the project report dated June 13,2001. Ayes: Duncan, Wilke, Rhody, Olson, Cunningham, Traynor, Mulder Nays: None Motion carried 7-0.
