The property is <br />zoned R-I, Single Family Residential District with a Comprehensive Plan Designation of <br />LR, Low Density Residential. <br /> <br />2.2 To the west and south of the Peterson's property are residential homes, to the east is an <br />apartment complex, and to the north (directly across the street) is the Minnesota Army <br />National Guard Recruiting and Retention Command Center. <br /> <br />2.3 Currently a five-foot tall fence lies in the same general location (front yard property line) <br />as the proposed five foot nine inch fence would be erected. <br /> <br />2.4 The Peterson's are requesting the variance from Section I012.02B2 of the Roseville <br />Zoning Ordinance. Due to the noise levels created from traffic along North McCarrons <br />Boulevard West and that generated from the National Guard facility the Petersons have <br />little privacy and sound screening for their home. <br /> <br />3.0 STAFF COMMENT & FINDINGS <br /> <br />3.1 Section 10 12. 02B2 of the Roseville City Code requires fences in a front yard to be no <br />greater in height than 48 inches.
