Commission meetinl! of Julv 11. 2001: <br />2 <br />3 6 (b) Plannine File 3323: A request by Paul Grotenhuis for a Variance/rom Section <br />4 703.04B1a (driveway apron width in the public right-of-way) of the Roseville <br />5 City Code on property located <br />6 <br />7 Chair Rhody opened the hearing and requested Thomas Paschke to provide a verbal <br />8 summary of the project report dated July 11,2001. <br />9 <br />10 Thomas Paschke explained that Paul Grotenhuis for a 17-foot Variance from Section <br />11 703.04Bla of the City Code to allow a driveway apron in the public right-of-way to be <br />12 increased from the required 26-foot maximum width to a width of 48 feet. He explained <br />13 the up-hill grade (slope) difficulties on this site, with an angle of drive that allows for <br />14 better access to the site. Staff recommended approval. <br />15 <br />16 Mr. Paul Grotenhuis answered questions and explained a modification that would allow a <br />17 13 to 14 foot variance. Member Mulder stated the proposed variance could be up to 17 <br />18 feet. Deb Bloom said the staff could help adjust this driveway in the field. <br />19 <br />20 Member Olson asked if there was a problem accessing the hill and driveway in winter <br />21 (no). The adjacent neighbor accepts the alignment of the driveway. <br />22 <br />23 There were no comments. Chair Rhody closed the hearing. <br />24 <br />25 Motion: Member Mulder moved, seconded by Member Wilke, to recommend approval <br />26 of the request by Paul Grotenhuis for a variance to Section 703.04Bla of the City Code, <br />27 said variance not to exceed 17 feet to allow an increase in the required driveway apron <br />28 within a public right-of-way from 26 feet to 43 feet for property located at 3175 West <br />29 Owasso Boulevard, based on the findings in Section 3 of the project report dated July <br />30 11,2001. <br />31 <br />32 Ayes: 7 <br />33 Nays: 0 <br />34 Motion carried 7-0. <br />35 <br />
