Commission meetinl! of Julv 11. 2001: 2 3 6 (b) Plannine File 3323: A request by Paul Grotenhuis for a Variance/rom Section 4 703.04B1a (driveway apron width in the public right-of-way) of the Roseville 5 City Code on property located 6 7 Chair Rhody opened the hearing and requested Thomas Paschke to provide a verbal 8 summary of the project report dated July 11,2001. 9 10 Thomas Paschke explained that Paul Grotenhuis for a 17-foot Variance from Section 11 703.04Bla of the City Code to allow a driveway apron in the public right-of-way to be 12 increased from the required 26-foot maximum width to a width of 48 feet. He explained 13 the up-hill grade (slope) difficulties on this site, with an angle of drive that allows for 14 better access to the site. Staff recommended approval. 15 16 Mr. Paul Grotenhuis answered questions and explained a modification that would allow a 17 13 to 14 foot variance. Member Mulder stated the proposed variance could be up to 17 18 feet. Deb Bloom said the staff could help adjust this driveway in the field. 19 20 Member Olson asked if there was a problem accessing the hill and driveway in winter 21 (no). The adjacent neighbor accepts the alignment of the driveway. 22 23 There were no comments. Chair Rhody closed the hearing. 24 25 Motion: Member Mulder moved, seconded by Member Wilke, to recommend approval 26 of the request by Paul Grotenhuis for a variance to Section 703.04Bla of the City Code, 27 said variance not to exceed 17 feet to allow an increase in the required driveway apron 28 within a public right-of-way from 26 feet to 43 feet for property located at 3175 West 29 Owasso Boulevard, based on the findings in Section 3 of the project report dated July 30 11,2001. 31 32 Ayes: 7 33 Nays: 0 34 Motion carried 7-0. 35
