<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of <br />Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was held on the 27th day of August 2001, at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />Council Member <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING A 176 SQUARE FOOT VARIANCE TO <br />SECTION 1004.01A5 OF THE ROSEVILLE CITY CODE <br />FOR PROPERTY LOCA TED AT 1133 LAURIE ROAD (PF 3325) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Fred and Laurie Boucher have requested a 176 square foot variance to <br />Section 1004.01A5 (Overall Area) of the Roseville City Code in order to construct a 1,008 <br />square foot detached garage in their rear yard; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Boucher property is located at 1133 Laurie Road and legally described <br /> <br />as: <br /> <br />Lot 9, Block 2 Golden Oaks" Ramsey County, Minnesota (PID # 102923440050). <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 1004.01A5 allows accessory buildings up to but not exceeding the <br />size of the principal structure foot print or in the case of the Boucher principal structure 832 <br />square feet; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Boucher propose a detached accessory building 24 feet by 42 feet that <br />would be 176 square feet larger than their present home (principal structure); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Code would allow an 832 square foot detached accessory structure <br />on the premises without the need for a conditional use permit and a (one) 120 square foot garden <br />shed for a total of 1,023 square feet of accessory building storage space; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Community Development Staff has considered the impacts of multiple <br />accessory structures on the parcel and determined that an alternative solution of one larger <br />structure is more efficient than constructing a smaller garage and placing a garden shed <br />somewhere on the property and that an accessory structure 1008 square feet in size eliminates <br />the need for a second structure (garden shed or larger); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, All of the adjacent property owners except one have signed a letter <br />supporting the Boucher request; and <br /> <br />1 <br />
