We offer the following comments for your consideration.

Item 13 indicates that no water appropriation is anticipated with the project. If construction does
indeed require temporary dewatering in excess of 10,000 gallons per day, or 1,000,000 gallons
per year, then a DNR water appropriation permit is necessary.

Item 18 discusses issues ofproject-related stonn water runoff management. We have two
COITlments to offer:

1. Item 18a indicates that the project will utilize infiltration areas. TI1is is a positive project
feature and DNR commends the proposer for tl1is project feature. Increasingly, DNR is
recommending consideration of infiltration-based teclmiques to ensure that both runoff
quantity and quality are addressed in a project's environmental design. We also
commend the proposer for reducing the footprint of the buildings at the site, wl1ich will in
turn reduce the amount of stonn water runoff generated at the site from the current
condition.

2. Item 18b indicates that runoff will be directed to a regional storm water pond that in turn
discharges to "DNR Wetland 50-W," This waterbody is Wilson Lake, which is listed on
the public waters wetland inventory as #62-0050W. The regional storm water pond is
part of Wilson Lake. As such if the project requires any work in the pond below the the
Ordinary High Water (OHW) level of903.5' (NGVD, 1929), then this activity is under
the jurisdiction of the DNR and the work may require a DNR public waters permit.

DNR Information: 651-296-6157 · 1-888-646-6~67 · ITY: 651-296-5484 · 1-800-657-3929

An EquaJ Opportunity Employer
Who Values Diversity

{\ Printed on Recycled Paper Containing a
....
