City sign ordinances require that ground signs in I-2 zonin9 <br />districts, not exceed 50 sq. feet in area. <br /> <br />2. Jeffrey HeQ9/Welsh Companies is requesting a variance to <br />allow a ground sign to have an area of 71.5 sq. feet instead <br />of the required 50 feet. <br /> <br />3. The Planninq commission unanimously recommended denial of the <br />variance request because there was no hardship shown to <br />justify the qranting of a variance. <br /> <br />Al ternat.hles: <br /> <br />1. Deny the variance based on the finding that no hardship <br />exists to grant the variance. <br /> <br />2. Approve the variance based on the finding that a hardship <br />exists. <br /> <br />.E.ol ic~ Ob~ecti ves: <br /> <br />1. To insure that development occurs which is consistent with <br />the city's comprehensive plan and zoning ordinance. <br /> <br />2.
