No. 11149-02

Dear Ms. Drewry:

Enclosed are a Pennit Application and three (3) copies of Stonn Water Management Calculations
and Construction Plans for the development of 6 Tennis Courts on the Northwestern College campus
just to the south of the Roseville/Arden Hills corporate boundary and to the east of the main
College Campus Drive. Also enclosed is a check for $150.00 for the Rice Creek Watershed
District Penmt Fee. Please place this project on your next meeting agenda.

TIle subwatershed in which the tennis court development is proposed currently drains to a
depression in the woods and percolates into the ground (the soil in this area is generally quite
sandy). We propose to maintain this general drainage pattern and direct runoff from the new
tennis courts into this depression. We understand that the Watershed District will allow this
provided that the depression volume is great enough to hold two 100 year stonns back-to-back.
For this subwatershed that volume would be 57,615 cU.ft. The capacity of the existing
depression below contour elevation 926.0 is 45,649 cu,ft. To obtain the required capacity of
57,615 cu.ft., construction will include raising the rim of the depression slightly along the
southeast edge from a low point of 926.08 to elevation 927.00 which will increase the capacity
of the depression to 60,879 cu.ft.

If you have any questions or need additional infonnation, please contact me at 292-4420.

Sincerely,

Richard L.
