We have owned this propci!rty since JUlie, 1957. and the existing driveway vas in this l~ation when we bought t~e property. Our r~use vas built in 1941 and by clacing th~ house near tne soutb property line. the reaaining landJ to ~he soatb, ~as .s~ablisbed as the drivev3Y, which l~d t~ the single garage that no longer exists. We have since re~ved the old garage and built a new one Oft the southeast corner of the lot and have constructed a concrete dri~ up to tbat garage. at considerable expense, fo~r years ago. .. .. . ---: -' The hardship ~hat we face is two-fold. To save tbe driveway to the north side of the house would require cencving two 45 year old ~it. pine trees, plus nuaerous s.alter ones, plus the expense of constructing a nev driv9. which vould t~en cut dia~onallJ across oar back fard rendering that unus~abl~. We hope you will find tbis solution as unacceptable as ~e do. Secondly, to reduce ~he driYe t~ a single width would constitute a hardship in that 1fe have IIOre than one vehicle a~d thus ~vo lanes are needed in urde: for ~be drive to function in an acceptable manner.
