Police Civil Service Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />Tuesday, May 21, 2013 1:00 pm <br />City Hall Elm Room, 2660 Civic Center Drive <br />Roseville, Minnesota 55113 <br />Commissioners Present: <br />Chairperson Brad VanderVegt and Recording Secretary Zoe Jenkins <br />Others Present: <br />Chief Rick Mathwig <br />1. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson VanderVegt at 1:OOPM. <br />2. The Agenda for today's meeting was reviewed and approved as submitted. <br />3. The minutes of the April 2, 2013, meeting were reviewed. It was agreed that reference to <br />(POST) following National Officer's Selection Test (#4) be stricken. The minutes were approved <br />with the deletion of (POST). <br />4. Chief Mathwig presented the Sergeant's Promotional List for certification. He also explained the <br />reasons for a limited number of applicants. <br />Dennis Kim <br />Matthew Brake <br />The two applicants were evaluated. Chief Mathwig will interview both applicants and submit one <br />name to interim City Manager Patrick Trudgeon. It was moved and seconded that the Sergeant's <br />Promotional List be certified. <br />5. Chief Mathwig discussed the ongoing selection process for two police officer positions. The initial <br />311 applicants were screened to 47. These individuals will be interviewed May 28 - 29, 2013. <br />There will be two sessions each day; 8-12am and 1-5pm. The commissioners were invited to <br />observe. Two panels will be involved in the interviews. Following these interviews the Chief's <br />Panel will also interview the applicants. <br />6.
