<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, <br />County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was held on the 19th day of August, 2002, at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Maschka, Kough, Klausing <br />and the following were absent: Kysylyczyn, Schroeder <br /> <br />Council Member Maschka introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 10028 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING A VARIANCE TO SECTION 1004.01A6 (MAXIMUM TOTAL <br />SURFACE AREA) OF THE ROSEVILLE CITY CODE <br />FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 660 HEINEL DRIVE (PF 3413). <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Joel Berntsen has requested a variance to Section 1004.0 lA6 (Maximum Total <br />Surface Area) in order to construct an owner's suite addition to the existing home; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Berntsen property is located at 660 Heinel Drive and legally described at as: <br />Lot 1, Block 1, Kimberly Park, PID #022923410007 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 1004.01A61imits each residential lot in Roseville to a maximum impervious <br />coverage of 30%; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Joel Berntsen's parcel currently occupies more than 30% impervious area (structures <br />and pavement surfaces); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Joel Berntsen desires to construct certain home improvements including an owner's <br />suite addition to his home; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said existing and new improvements exceed the maximum total surface area allowed <br />by Section 1004.01A6 by 571 square feet or 5%; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Roseville Planning Commission held the public hearing regarding the variance <br />request by Joel Berntsen on August 7,2002, and recommended (5-0) approval of the request, based on <br />findings outlined in Section 5 and conditions of Section 6 of the project report dated August 7, 2002. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Roseville City Council, to grant Joel Berntsen <br />571 square foot (5%) variance to Section 1004.01A6 ofthe Roseville City Code based on the findings in <br />Section 5 of the project report dated August 19,2002, and subject to the following conditions: <br /> <br />a. All building and site improvements shall not exceed 4,361 square feet of impervious area. <br />b. The review and approval of a building permit consistent with the approved plans and <br />vanance. <br />c. The installation of roof gutters to properly direct roof drainage away from the adjacent <br />properties. <br />d. Apply for and receive a Setback Permit to encroach 7 feet into the 10 foot required side <br />yard setback. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council Member Kough <br />and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor: Maschka, Kough, Klausing <br /> <br />and the following voted against: None <br /> <br />WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br /> <br />1 <br />
