Roseville population is older than most
suburbs. Many original home owners from the 1950's and 60's still live in their homes.
More than 4,500 (30 percent) of the homes have the head of household over the age of 65
and more than 44 percent of all homes have a household head over the age of 55. Roseville
seniors live longer and are much healthier than previous generations. Roseville will con-
tinue to age in the next 10 years.

As housing becomes available, mid-
career, two income families with
grade school or middle school chil-
dren move into Roseville. And, they
are staying, too, creating a stable
community. The turnover rate of
single family homes is less than 3
percent per year in Rosevilie. The
number of elementary children in
the community (7,100 or 21 per-
cent of the total) will remain the
same or slightly decline. The chil-
dren are dispersed among more
public, private and charter schools
than in the past.

The household size has declined
from 3.5 to 2.2 persons per house-
hold in the past 20 number of households has increased by 1,400 units (l0
percent) because of the combination of children leaving the home and more one and two
person senior housing units being developed.

6
