<br />REQUEST FOR CITY COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />DATE: 1/06/03 <br />ITEM NO: <br /> <br />Department Approval: <br />LB/DW <br /> <br />Item Description: <br /> <br />City Manager Approval Agenda Section: <br />CONSENT <br />ANNUAL CITY EVENTS SIGN PERMITS FOR 2003 (PF3371) <br /> <br />1.0 BACKGROUND <br /> <br />1.1 The City Council annually approves sign permits for City events held throughout the <br />year by multiple City Departments. The City Code, Sign age Section 1009.031 states <br />"City and Public Signs: Except for traffic-related signage, all permanent city, school or <br />other governmental unit signage including flags must be approved by the City Council." <br /> <br />1.2 For 2003 the Departments prepared the attached list of signage requirements for the <br />entire year, recognizing that some events may change dates or times slightly. <br /> <br />1.3 The signs and displays must adhere to setback provisions, except for directional signage, <br />which may be at the property line. <br /> <br />2.0 STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> <br />2.1 Staff recommends the Council approve the 2003 sign permit for City uses and <br />promotions as listed in the attached summary. <br /> <br />3.0 SUGGESTED COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />3.1 By motion, approve the 2003 sign permit for City uses and promotions as listed in the <br />attached summary. <br /> <br />PF3371 - ReA 010603 - Page 1 of 1 <br />
