Hess Investment Properties
1907 Shady Beach Ave.
Roseville, MN 55113

July 11m 2001

City of Roseville,

The current owners of Hess Investment Properties wouJd like to express their concerns in reference to
building permit AOJ-282 at J897 Shady Beach Ave. Hess Investment Properties currently owns the
property at 189 J Shady Beach Ave.

The permit in questioo states that a fence replacement will be taking place. In the permit request it is
stated that the adjoining neighbors signed this plan, We would like to point out that both adjoining property
owners are new and not in favor of this plan, due to the fact that the fence restricts our view of the lake.
We would also like to point out that the plan allows for a max fence height of 6 1/2 feet which is not code.
The fence is also shown in the plan to be over 4 feet tall in front of the house, which is not allowed in
Roseville, according to City staff. I would also like you to consider the fact that the proposed fence is to be
constructed out of vinyl, which will a-eate a whole different look then the original cedar fence. If you have
any question please call Frank Hess at 65 I 488-8490.

Respectfully yours,
;)-- J 2/
Frank t!ess rr~
General Partner
Hess Investment Properties
