~~

Community Development.Department
651-490-2279 . fax: 651-490-2931

April 11, 2002

Ms. Wendy M. Ferstle
1800 Lindy Avenue
Roseville, MN 55113

RE: Fence Location Variance.

Dear Ms. Ferstle:

After further review and consideration of your request for a fence setback variance, the
Community Development Department has determined that this request/application is no longer
necessary. However, I would like to meet with you on the site after your northeast property
marker is located and exposed. The purpose of this meeting is to determine whether and to what
extent any fence may pose a problem to vehicles using the Robert Paul/strip center access.

Enclosed is a copy of a aerial photo that indicates (generally) where your property line lies in
proximity to the sidewalk and street. The thin light yellow line is the property line, and given its
distance from the sidewalk and curb, we are inclined to allow the six-foot tall fence, should the
property line be of adequate distance. Our change stems from a further analysis of Section
1012.03 and whether it should have been applied to your situation.

The Community Development Staff would like to work with you and a fence design, should a
slight modification be necessary. However, this will not be known until the inspection occurs.

I will be out of the office until April 17 and would be more than happy to meet with you either
that Thursday of Friday. I am also returning your application fee and this letter serves as notice
that your file has been closed, requiring no further action.

Should you have any questions or comments, please feel free to call me at 651-490-2236.

Sincerely,
1
CIXYo, ROSEVILLE

~.-:.""

-
"Jw
Thomas Paschke
City Planner

2660 Civic Center Drive .:.
