I have reviewed the application and determined it to be
incomplete. This determination is premised on the absence of a scaled site plan clearly
identifying the exact location of the existing structure and the proposed structure, a narrative that
clearly addresses what hardships exist on the premises, and the absence of the legal description
of your property.

I have reviewed the building permit application file, which includes a site plan, however, greater
detail regarding distance from property lines in necessary. Specifically, the site plan must show
the property lines and the exact location the existing and proposed structure lie form each
property line. This critical information is used to determine whether a variance is necessary, as
well as the type and magnitude of any required variance. I have included a copy of an acceptable
site plan and request that the plan submitted with your building permit request be revised
similarly.

As for the required narrative, page two of the application provides a statement regarding
hardship. Please read through this section (attached) and develop your response. The statement
on the bottom of the front page of the application you submitted could be modified to address
hardship.

Lastly, a legal description is necessary for both the public hearing notification process and,
should the variance be granted by the City Council, for recording the variance resolution. Your
property's legal description is located on the property title you received when you purchased the
home. You can also obtain the legal description form Ramsey County.

2660 Civic Center Drive .:. Roseville .:. Minnesota .:.55113
651-490-2200.:.
