"Good public process in this instance would have involved publicly listing the applicants' names, a public interview pro- cess, input from "other council members, and gathering staff and public feedback about any concerns they may have had with applicants," Klausing said. "I don't know who applied for this (BRA board)," he continued. "I haven't seen a single application. I have no idea what kinds of questions were asked during the interview process, or what criteria was used to make these recommendations." Maschka also voted no for approval of , the nominees. According to city documents, the mayor based. his selection on the following crite- ria: · Resume and/or interview responses · Discussions with candidates (recent and past) · Desire to involve new citizens in the process · Desire to achieve represeptation from all forms of housing · Professional experience to guide policy development Minnesota state statute allows mayors to make such recommendations to an HRA board.
