<br />8.0 What other communities have BRA and Levy? <br /> <br />Community Use Levy <br />City of Austin The HRA levy (maximum allowable each year) is used to $108,000 <br /> support the administration of the HRA including a percentage <br /> of salary for the HRA director, overhead and administration. <br /> In addition, the funds are used to pay for debt service on <br /> housing projects and other miscellaneous redevelopment <br /> activities. <br />City of Bloomington The majority of money is being used for single family $1,113,390 <br /> rehabilitation and multifamily development and the <br /> establishment of redevelopment. <br />City of Hopkins Economic Development operations $100,000 <br />City of Maple Grove Funds are used in conjunction with CDBG funds, Met $175,000 <br /> Council funds, Fanlily Housing funds and other sources to <br /> acquire homes in need of repair & renovation. These homes <br /> are then owned by the City of Maple Grove and rented to low <br /> to moderate income people as the City's scattered site housing <br /> program. CurrentIy Maple Grove owns 16 units. In addition <br /> tile HRA funds are used as leverage in assisting Common <br /> Bond and Habitat For Humanity in their affordable housing <br /> needs. While Maple Grove does not levy a large amount each <br /> year they are able to stretch tile dollars by leveraging other <br /> "outside" Maple Grove funding sources. <br />City of St. Louis Park The stated purpose for the use of tIlese dollars is to pay for $433,000 <br /> infrastructure improvements related to redevelopment projects <br /> where shortfall has occurred due to tax reform that reduced <br /> TIF on several previously approved redevelopment projects. <br />City of Belle Plaine The money goes to cover HRA operating expenses such as $15,000 <br /> salary and towards the Residential Revolving Loan Fund. <br />City of Champlin The maximum levy is used to pay for administrative Not provided <br /> expenses.... salaries, legal, marketing, engineering, education. <br />City of Anoka Used to fund personal service, contract services, supplies and $125,000 <br /> other specific programs relating to housing. <br />City of St. Cloud Supports administrative costs for certain programs tIlat do not $281,000 <br /> support themselves, but are considered significant for tile <br /> community relating to housing <br />City of Columbia Debt Service Retirement. $111,000 <br />Heights <br />City of Fridley HRA levy is used to repay a City loan that was provided to $200,000 <br /> tile HRA for the initial capitalization of the residential <br /> revolving loan program. <br /> <br />10 <br />
