I can
make it a bit clearer - bold lettering - in that sentence that reads:

It is the goal of the City Council to appoint board members that have a passion for
housing. In addition it will be the desire to have the membership include a broad range of
individuals including an older resident, a younger family resident, a renter, someone with
financial background and/or real estate experience.

I can request that the applications be directed to you specifically and added
this to the application with your email. Do you have a city phone number?

I have attached revised application and notice making these changes.

Cathy Capone Bennett
Economic Development
City of Roseville
2660 Civic Center
Roseville, MN

visit webpage at http://www.ci.coseville.mn.~

-----Original Message--m
From: Mayor John Kysylyczyn [mailto:johnk@usfamily.net]
Sent: Wednesday, July 10, 2002 3:40 PM
To: Cathy Bennett
Subject: member notice and app for HRA

Cathy,
Application is good but I want to run by a few things?

First, I presume that there would not be a problem with appointing someone who is a
long time Roseville business owner, but not a resident. If that is the case, should we
adjust the category that says "Roseville Resident _ Years" to maybe "Roseville
Resident or Business Owner _ Years"? If there is no residency requirement under
state law, I would rather not restrict it. There could be a financial person who has worked
in the city for years but lives in Shoreview, for example. Also, should we specify
homeowner or business owners may apply? What about apartment dwellers?

Second, on the last page, one of the "I understand" phrases should be ammended.
The second bullit point should say "I may be invited..." changing will to may.

Third, is there a more unique type of question we can ask applicants? I can't think of
any off the top of my head, but maybe you have an idea or two.

Fourth, I would like these applications to come to me directly at City Hall, without
passing through the hands of a dozen people first. I'm not sure exactly how to accomplish
this. Maybe below the signature line we put the statement "Please e-mail to
mayor@gi,roseville.mn.us or US mail to: Office of the Mayor - HRA Application, 2660
Civic Center Drive, Roseville, MN 55113. What is your opinion?
