Roseville City Council Seeks Interested Residents to Serve on the newly created Housing and Redevelopment Authority Are you interested in the current and future condition of housing in Roseville? Do you have an interest, background, or experience in housing, real estate or finance that you may be able to contribute to the bettennent ofthe community? The Roseville City Council is seeking applicants for the newly created Housing & Redevelopment Authority (HRA). An HRA is a separate legal authority under Minnesota Statutes 469.001 to 469.047 that directs redevelopment projects with the specific purpose of removing blight and promoting affordable, safe and decent housing. The 7-member Board will provide the commitment and direction of Rose vi lie's current and future housing programs and policies. The City Council will appoint board members who have a passion for housing. The Council is seeking a broad range of individuals including an older resident, a younger family resident, a renter and someone with financial background and real estate experience. Members must be Roseville residents (homeowner or apartment dweller) and have a passion and interest in providing quality and affordable housing for all members of the community. Experience in federal, state, county, regional and other services that impact the City's housing condition will be a great benefit to the HRA. The HRA will schedule regular meetings throughout the year. Members' time commitment would run 3 hours or more per month, depending on the HRA's work schedule. HRA board members will be appointed to staggered one to five year terms. The City of Roseville Mayor appoints the members ofthe HRA with City Council approval.
