<br />1 Excerpt of Draft Minutes from August 6 Planning Commission meeting: <br /> <br />2 h. Planning; File 3508: Request by James and Marian Korffor a variance to <br />3 Section 1004.01AG (Maximum Total Surface Area) and <br />4 (Dwelling Dimensions - Front Yard Setback) of the Roseville City Code <br />5 to allow the installation of a new porch on the front (south) and side (west) <br />6 of their home at 1407 Burke Avenue W. <br />7 <br />8 Chairman Jim Mulder opened the hearing and requested City Planner Thomas Paschke to <br />9 provide a verbal summary of the staff written report dated August 6, 2003. <br />10 <br />11 Mr. Paschke indicated that Marian and James Korf, 1047 Burke Avenue, were seeking <br />12 approval ofa variance to Section 1004.01AG (Maximum Total Surface Area) and <br />13 (Exception) of the Roseville City Code to allow the construction of a porch on <br />14 to the front (south) and side (west) of their home. <br />15 <br />16 Thomas Paschke advised that based on the information provided and the findings in <br />17 Section 5 of the project report dated August 6, 2003, the Planning staff recommends <br />18 approval ofa 575 square foot (5%) variance to Section 1004.01A6 and a 7 foot 6 inch <br />19 variance to Section 1004.01E of the Roseville City Code for Marian and James Korfto <br />20 allow the construction of a front and side porch on to their home at 1047 Burke Avenue, <br />21 subject to the following conditions: <br />22 a. The parcel being limited to an impervious coverage maximum of3,577 <br />23 square feet or 35%. <br />24 b. The porch addition being limited to the size indicated on the submitted <br />25 plans, including being limited to a 7 foot 6 inch extension on the front <br />26 (south) of the home and a 5 foot 4 inch extension one the side (west) on <br />27 the home. <br />28 c. Gutters and downspouts must be installed along the eves of the porch to <br />29 direct runoff into the front and side yard of the parcel. <br />30 d. The review and approval of a building permit must be consistent with the <br />31 approved plans and variances. <br />32 <br />33 There were no comments from the applicant. Chair Mulder closed the hearing. <br />34 <br />35 Motion: Member Stone moved, seconded by Member Bakeman, to recommend <br />36 approval ofa 575 square foot (5%) variance to Section 1004.01A6 (Maximum Total <br />37 Surface Area) of the Roseville City Code, based on the findings of Section 5 and <br />38 conditions of Section 6 of the project report dated August 6, 2003 <br />39 <br />40 Ayes: 5 <br />41 Nays: 0 <br />42 Motion carried. <br />43 <br />44 Motion: Member Stone moved, seconded by Member Peper, to recommend approval of <br />45 a 7 foot, 6 inch, variance to Section 1004.01E (Exception) of the Roseville City Code, <br />
