<br /> <br />Community Development Department <br />651-490-2279 + fax: 651-490-2931 <br /> <br />August 21, 2003 <br /> <br />JoAnn A Slifer <br />2910 Arona Street. <br />Roseville, MN 55113 <br /> <br />RE: Setback Permit Application Review. <br /> <br />Dear Ms. Slifer: <br /> <br />Thank you for your recent application seeking a SETBACK PERMIT to allow the construction <br />of a detached garage and paved driveway on the premises. I have reviewed your application and <br />determined that it is incomplete. Hence, the City is unable to process your request at this time. <br /> <br />Specifically, your application seeks a 3 foot encroachment into the required 5 foot side yard <br />setback for both the driveway and the detached accessory building (garage). The City Code <br />would allow the driveway to encroach this distance (placed 2 feet from a side yard property line) <br />with an approved SETBACK PERMIT, but a detached accessory building can only encroach 2 <br />feet into the required 5 foot side yard setback with an approved SETBACK PERMIT. <br /> <br />Should you desire to place the detached accessory building to a point no closer than 2 feet from <br />your side yard (north) property line, I suggest completing the attached V ARlANCE application <br />and remit me the required information (narrative) and fee. <br /> <br />Another option is to revise your current proposal by 1 foot, so that the detached accessory <br />building is proposed no closer than 3 feet from your side yard (north) property line. This <br />revision could then be processed as a SETBACK PERMIT saving you up to 60 days of process <br />time. <br /> <br />Please contact me at your earliest convenience so that this matter can be resolved and the process <br />continued.
