Dick & Panv Durgin

1048 Parker Avenue
Roseville, Minnesota 551 13

September 27,2003

Thomas Paschke, City Planner
Roseville
Minnesota

Regarding Planning File 3526

We are against issuing the interim use permit requested by Calvary Baptst Church. We have lived at our

current address since 1968, the church has not been, nor is it now, a considerate neighbor. We cannot believe

that anyone in their congregation would want to live accross the street from a house that has junk piled so high

on the porch that it is clearly visible thru the windows. Since the church was sited by Roseville, they have taken

the old, aluminum door with the glass portion covered by faded, pink insulation down, and replaced it with a new,

full view door. This is wonderful because it now gives a better view of the junk piled on the porch, and in the last

few days, piled infront of the door,

The house next door at 1039 Parker, has an overgrown vegetable garden planted in the front yard, dogs barking

sometime between 11 :30 PM and 1 :00 AM, and weeds growing from the gutters.

Therefore, we cannot believe that the church would be anymore considerate of the neighbors who would be effected

by the noise level this use would create, nor do we believe they would keep up the appearance of the "converted"

building. The only place kept up is the entrances to the church so that their congregation sees how nice it is. The

parking lot islands were overgrown with weeds until my husband talked to some members on a Sunday morning

explaining their lot looked like something in North East Minneapolis.

We would hope the Planning Commission and the City Council would please consider the neighbors who live here

and would be effected by this change of useage.

~~~
() C-
rdi~ 0~~
